Custom warehouse management

A custom warehouse management system, shaped to your floor.

A WMS is one slice of a logistics operation, and it's the slice most off-the-shelf SaaS gets wrong, because every warehouse runs differently. Archestack lets you build the WMS to match your floor instead of bending the floor to match the SaaS.

Why off-the-shelf WMS fights you eventually.

A packaged warehouse management system locks in someone else's idea of what a "location" is, what a "pick" is, what a "shipment" is. Your operation has details that don't fit: a kit-build station, a quality hold area, a reserved-stock concept your customers contract for, a return flow that branches three ways.

Every one of those details turns into a customization ticket, a workaround, or a spreadsheet that lives alongside the WMS. After a couple of years the WMS is the bottleneck rather than the solution.

What a WMS on Archestack looks like.

You author the entities your operation needs. A typical build wires up:

  • Locations: zones, aisles, racks, bins, with whichever hierarchy your warehouse actually uses.
  • Items and SKUs: with batch / lot / serial tracking when the product calls for it, and just simple stock counts when it doesn't.
  • Stock movements: receive, putaway, pick, pack, ship, cycle count, written as event-sourced records you can replay.
  • Mobile-friendly screens: handheld scanner UIs that fit on a 4-inch screen and feel responsive on a 2.4 GHz wifi.
  • Real-time updates: a scan from the floor pushes the new stock count to the dispatcher's screen without a refresh.
  • Custom flows: kit-build, returns triage, quarantine, however your floor handles the unusual cases.

It's part of a bigger ERP, not a silo.

Because the WMS lives in the same database as orders, customers, invoices, and route planning, the data flows without integrations. A pick on the floor closes the order line. A shipment marks the order as fulfilled. The invoice runs against the items that left the building.

That's the difference between a custom WMS built on a framework and a SaaS WMS bolted onto everything else: there's nothing to bolt.
